Privacy Policy

This is the privacy policy for Drill Down, operated by Misaligned ("we", "us"), and covers both the web version of the game and the Android app. Questions: privacy@misaligned.games.

Misaligned Games is the trading name of Misaligned Games SAS, SIREN 982 145 740 (RCS Bobigny), registered office 204 B avenue Pasteur, 93170 Bagnolet, France. Misaligned Games SAS is the data controller for the data described in this policy.

What we collect

Anonymous usage events — page views and button taps, with a random session identifier (not tied to your identity).
Campaign attribution — the ad source/campaign parameters (UTM) and referrer in the link you arrived from.
Email address — only if you choose to submit it to be notified at launch.

Why

To measure which game concepts and ads people respond to, and to notify interested people when a game launches. We do not build advertising profiles from this data.

Sharing

We do not sell your data. Event data is stored with our infrastructure provider (Supabase) solely to produce aggregate interest metrics.

If you install the Android app

When you install Drill Down from an app store, the app additionally uses:

PostHog analytics (EU-hosted) — anonymous product-analytics events, an anonymous device identifier, and approximate (country-level) location derived from your IP address. Not tied to your name or email; we do not sell it.
AppsFlyer install attribution — your device’s advertising ID (GAID) and basic install/app-open events, to measure which ad campaigns lead to installs (the app declares the com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID permission). AppsFlyer processes this on our behalf; aggregate campaign results are shared with our advertising partners (e.g. AppLovin). We do not use it to build an advertising profile of you. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.

Data is encrypted in transit. On request we delete analytics and attribution data associated with your device (see below).

Your choices

To access or delete any data associated with you, use the data deletion form, or email privacy@misaligned.games. We process requests within 30 days.

Two identifiers, and the form asks for both:

Your Analytics ID — an anonymous device identifier (Android ID) that the gameplay analytics are stored under. It is not linked to your name or email. The game shows it to you: open Settings in the bottom bar and read Analytics ID at the foot of the page, or tap Request data deletion there and the form opens with it already filled in. Send it and we delete the record; without it we cannot tell which record is yours.
Your advertising ID (Android Settings → Privacy → Ads — shown at the bottom of that screen) — the install-attribution record is keyed to it, and we delete it via our provider. You can also sever attribution yourself at any time by resetting or deleting that ID in the same screen.

If you ask for nothing: analytics events are removed after 12 months and attribution records after 24 months. Your saved game never leaves the device, so it is not ours to delete — clear it with Android Settings → Apps → Drill Down → Storage → Clear data, or by uninstalling.
